Benedictine teachers grow moustaches for Movember

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Teachers at Benedictine Military School are growing moustaches for a good cause. Movember, the worldwide moustache growing charity event, is held during the entire month of November each year to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues including prostate and testicular cancer. The ladies at Benedictine area also getting involved, sponsoring the men for their growing efforts.

"This is not a normal occurrence. I would not be allowed to have a moustache. Friends and family would not allow it. They allow it just for the good cause. So, I look creepy for a reason," said Alex Lowry, Benedictine teacher and coach.

Last year, Benedictine raised more than $4,000 during Movember. This year, they are hoping to raise even more. To donate, visit http://us.movember.com/mospace/5112481.
