Family of murdered firefighter still looking for justice

GARDEN CITY, GA (WTOC) - Family and friends of murdered Isle of Hope firefighter aren't giving up hope his killer will be caught.

Around 40 volunteers gathered at the Garden City fire dept. Saturday morning to pass out 20,000 flyers at gas stations, grocery stores and other businesses in the area.

Police say the 21-year-old firefighter was shot and killed at Deb's Pub and Grub in Sandfly in June. Five months later, his killer is still out there.

"This guy wasn't in town to commit a robbery, a shooting, a murder. He knows somebody, he's got a friend, family, or somebody who knows what happened," says James Wesley Franklin, Wesley's father.

Family and friends are hoping anyone with information will come forward to help solve this case. A cash reward is now up to $12,000.

Franklin's family believes someone knows something.

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police have released surveillance video of the man suspected of fatally shooting Franklin.

"It's time for him to be found. If you know who he is please turn him in," says Wesley's mother, Delane High.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at (912) 234-2020.
