Tattnall County High School celebrated their 10th annual Veterans Day program Monday. Tattnall County residents who have served in this country's military received a standing ovation as they entered the high school gymnasium.
Veterans from World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, walked in with current soldiers and those who've recently fought in the War on Terror. Student representatives led the program to remind classmates how important the military has been in America's history.
"We feel the students should know what it has taken to keep our country free," explained teacher Gail Dixon. "They need to appreciate what these men and women have done, what they've sacrificed, and what their families sacrificed."
