Shyheim RobertsShyheim Roberts of Johnson High School was all over the field last Friday night to lift the Atom Smashers to victory.
That earned Roberts the WTOC Player of the Week as they beat Tattnall County to extend the Smashers to at least one more game, and end the Battle Creek Warriors season.
The Johnson High Senior quarterback put up 143 yards passing and a touchdown, and 163 yards rushing with 2 touchdowns to put the Atom Smashers in the playoffs. "Just knowing that Friday Night was my last game, I had to put up or shut up so I did what I had to do to win," said Roberts.
Smashers head coach Jamie Baldwin added, "Shy's a great athlete first of all, he keeps his composure. That's one of his best attributes."
Is he a better passer or runner? "Ha, Ha, it's a toss-up, it depends on who we are playing, I would have to give credit to his feet. He's a duel threat, which causes defenses to play run more than pass."
What do you enjoy doing more? "I enjoy throwing it more, distributing the ball into my wide receivers hands and seeing them get into the end zone.:
Next up is the Chapel Hill Panthers on the road in Douglasville.
