Man killed, another injured in West 49th St. shooting

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Police are investigating a Wednesday night shooting that left one man dead and one man hospitalized.

Maurice Antwan James, 25, was declared dead at Memorial University Medical Center and his brother, Josh Detrimis James, 30, is in serious condition after the 7:30 p.m. shooting at their home in the 700 block of W 49th St.

According to the police report, investigators found Maurice and Josh James lying in the kitchen, shot several times in the abdomen and extremities. According to the report, detectives found several 44 caliber shell casing in front of the home, suggesting the shooter shot from outside. The report also suggests that one of the victims gave police the name of the suspect but police are not saying who that person is yet.

According to authorities, both victims have extensive records with Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department.

Violent Crimes detectives are continuing to investigate.
