Southside Firefighters win the challenge and B & D Burgers donates to the charity of their choice.
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Savannah-Metro Police officers and Southside
firefighters competed on Friday afternoon in the third annual B & D Burger Eat-off
fund-raiser.
They had to see who could
eat a 3-pound burger the fastest. Contestants say it's great to come together to raise money for
those in need.
B & D Burgers donated $1,000 to
the Southside Fire Dept.'s charity of choice - the Southeast Burn Center. The
center helps those burned in fires get the treatment they need to heal.
"It feels good. It's a good
charity. It's a good event. [It's] public safety agencies of Savannah working
together to get these foundations funding that they need," said Joe Eblin,
a Southside firefighter.
