SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
On Saturday, America's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia will be accepting the food and funds raised during Benedictine Military School's annual drive.
The cadets spent weeks collecting food at school and throughout the community.
"The food bank fondly recognized Benedictine as one of Savannah's Hunger Heroes and we appreciate their partnership in the local fight against hunger, "said Mary Jane Crouch, food bank executive director, in a press release. "We are very concerned about the lack of food on our shelves as the holidays and winter months approach and we hope that the community will follow the Cadets lead in collecting food. It makes all of the difference to local children, senior citizens, and families who need our help."
The cadets will load the canned food on to Second Harvest's truck to be taken to the food bank at 10 a.m. Nov. 19 at Benedictine Military School.
