Jingle Bell run for arthritis

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - Some folks looking to get a little exercise before that big Thanksgiving meal next Thursday hit the pavement Saturday morning for the jingle bell run.

The 5K Jingle Bell Run/Wlk was held at the Island's YMCA on Whitemarsh Island. Over 200 people participated to help raise funds for the Arthritis foundation.

The Junior honoree Lola Walden along with her parents, mom Dena and dad Aaron were honored during the event.

"The Jingle Bell Run/Walk is for the Arthritis foundation," said Co-Chair Denise Nelson.

"It helps raise money and awareness for people living with arthritis. My four year old son, Jason was diagnosed with it when he was four. The youth honoree who is also four years old, was diagnosed two years ago like my son. We are here to raise money and awareness for the foundation."

WTOC is a proud sponsor of the event and our very own Mike Cihla emceed the event.
