Runners take off at the Flying Fortress 5K

POOLER, GA (WTOC) -

A great way to enjoy a Saturday: hundreds of people ran around the Might 8th Air Force Museum and JCB in the third annual Flying Fortress 5k.

One runner stood out from the crowd - Kristen Bowers ran in a pink tutu along with her mother and bridesmaids. Bower's fiancée proposed in last year's Rock 'N Roll Marathon, but today's run was a little more special.

She, and now husband Jeremy Turner got married tonight at the Mighty 8th. WTOC also had several reasons to cheer, our own Pat Prokop won his age group, his wife Mary finished her first ever 5k, our Regional News Director Larry Silbermann set his own personal best time, and Mike Manhatton hosted the awards ceremony.
