SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Healthy meals
and locally grown produce took center stage at Forsyth Park Saturday.
Folks at the
Forsyth farmers market hosted a "bring it home" event. The Bring It Home
Project invites the Savannah community and visitors to learn about locally
grown food, exercise and how to grow with the Forsyth Farmers' Market.
There were
lots of games to play as well as demonstrations on how to cook more healthy
meals and a whole lot more.
"Oh
it's very exciting, we happened to have east broad elementary students come for
their field trip to the market," said Erika Tate, owner of Blueknowledge.
"So, it's
really great for them to be active and enjoy learning the market to do our
scavenger hunt. So, it really makes me feel great to be able to really just
share what is already here in our community."
The next Bring it Home event is
scheduled for March of next year. The Forsyth Farmers Market is open each Saturday
from 9 am to 1 pm.
