PORT ROYAL, SC (WTOC) -

A woman was arrested Sunday in connection with an attempted robbery in a Walmart parking lot.

Port Royal police said Cassandra Maura Ramos, 20, met a victim in Walmart's parking lot to get money from him. Police said Ramos pulled a knife and tried to rob him.

The victim took off in his car and Ramos chased him and fired three gunshots from a .357 revolver in the area of Grober Hill Road in Port Royal, according to police.

Officers pulled over Ramos on Ribaut Road, but she refused to stop until she was in the Old Shell Road area, according to police.

Ramos and her passenger Omar Lamar Habersham were taken into custody.

Ramos was arrested on charges of attempted murder, possession of a firearm during commission of a violent crime and failure to stop for blue lights and siren.

Police said Habersham was carrying a set of brass knuckles and charged with possession of a concealed weapon.

Ramos and Habersham were taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center.
