BLOOMINGDALE, GA (WTOC) -
All
of US Hwy 80 is back open after an early morning accident shut down both of the
eastbound lanes for about 2-hours.
Rescue
crews responded to a 3-vehicle accident on US Highway 80 at Conaway Rd. in
Bloomingdale shortly after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. The accident had the
eastbound lanes of Hwy 80 blocked, so police split the westbound lanes into two-way
traffic.
The
accident involved two trucks and a car. Authorities have not said what caused
the accident but WTOC's Ben Williamson spoke to the drivers of both of the
trucks and they said they are not exactly sure what happened, but recall a
woman in a red car traveling westbound when she swerved into two lanes and both
trucks hit her. Her car rolled over into the ditch along with one of the trucks
that hit her.
Christie
Tejada, the driver of the car, was taken to the hospital and she is currently
listed in fair condition. The drivers of the trucks, Brian Beckworth and George
Strickland Jr., were not injured.
All
3 vehicles have been towed away and the road has been cleared. All lanes are
now back open to traffic.
The
accident is under investigation.
