Cadets load barrels of cans they collected onto a truck for donation.
Cadets at Benedictine Military School spent several weeks collecting food for their annual food drive to help feed the community.
Benedictine Food Drive collected thousands of cans of food and more than $1,000 this year.
The school donated their collection to America's Second Harvest on Monday morning.
"The food bank fondly recognized Benedictine as one of Savannah's Hunger Heroes and we appreciate their partnership in the local fight against hunger, "said Mary Jane Crouch, executive director of America's Second Harvest. "We are very concerned about the lack of food on our shelves as the holidays and winter months approach and we hope that the community will follow the Cadets lead in collecting food. It makes all of the difference to local children, senior citizens, and families who need our help."
