4 Pembroke residents arrested in escaped inmate case

ATLANTA (WTOC) -

Four Pembroke residents face federal charges in connection with the escape of an Emanuel County Jail inmate.

Four people were arrested Tuesday morning in Pembroke by FBI agents with the help of the Bryan County Sheriff's Office, according to the FBI's Atlanta Field Office. They made their first appearance in federal court also on Tuesday.

Six inmates escaped from the Emanuel County jail on Nov. 10. Two remain at large.

One of the escapes was Cecil "Red" Nelson, 33, who had pleaded guilty on Aug. 16 to one count of conspiracy to kidnap in connection with two kidnappings in Bryan County, according to the FBI.

Charles Pretlow, 47, of Pembroke, is charged with conspiracy to harbor, harboring a fugitive.

Ida Clark, 57, of Pembroke, is charged with conspiracy to harbor, harboring a fugitive.

Ashley N. Lewis, 49, of Pembroke, is charged with conspiracy to harbor, harboring a fugitive, and lying to a federal officer.

Joshua R. Saturday, 49, of Pembroke, is charged with conspiracy to harbor, harboring a fugitive, and lying to a federal officer.

Pretlow is Nelson's cousin; Clark is his aunt; Lewis is his girlfriend ; Saturday is his roommate, according to the FBI.

Nelson was taken into custody without incident on Nov. 12 at his mother's home in Pembroke.
