SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The busiest shopping day of the year is less than 48 hours away, and in order to get the bargains you want, you need to be prepared with a game plan.

First, do your homework. Know which stores have which sales at what time. The majority of big box store sales start on Thanksgiving night, so if you wait until early Friday morning you could miss out.

Second, look out for Freebies. According to Dealnews.com, JC Penny and Old Navy are giving out freebies to Black Friday shoppers.

Lastly, don't forget your smartphone. "TGI Black Friday" and "Black Friday App" are just two of several apps offering thousands of bargains from the palm of your hand.

Black Friday isn't really for everyone, and plenty of shoppers will stay home this year, but one mother says she just can't turn down the bargains.

"I'm going to be there at 10 o'clock, my plan is to get the 4-wheeler and leave. I'm saving money. It's always good to save money," Amber Odell says.
