Spare Chance armed robbery suspect in custody

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A man accused of robbing a Savannah corner store is now in custody.

It happened Thursday at Spare Chance on Ogeechee Rd. and 38th St. Police say the suspect robbed the store with a gun and then took off.

The clerk called police. When they got there, they spotted the suspect about a block away.

They are not releasing his name yet.

On Friday, parents lined the Pine Barren Road, trying to retrieve their kids. The middle school students were relocated to West Chatham Elementary School after a suspicious package was found at West Chatham Middle School.
