FAULKVILLE, GA (WTOC) -

"He was a three year old blood hound. Sweet. Loving."

Tony Young called his hound Samson his baby. Early Monday morning, he says Samson woke him up to alert him to a fire.

"The first thing that hit my mind was getting Samson and Hercules. I got Hercules out and Samson went to hide."

Young says Samson ran under the bed. He busted out a window trying to get to him -- but it was too late.

Samson was killed in the blaze.

"I can't stop visualizing that little baby under the bed wondering why isn't mama and daddy helping me."

Young lost everything in the fire except his other dog Hercules.

Now - he'll have to rebuild his entire life...but he says it will be difficult without Samson.

"I prayed please God let this baby have a place in heaven. He deserves it."
