Armed robber confronts clerk, steals N. Charleston hotel safe

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) -

North Charleston police are investigating an early morning armed robbery at a hotel.

It happened just before 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, at the Clarion Inn & Suites on Dorchester Road.

The clerk told officers she saw a man walking from the back hallway to the front desk. He walked up to her, pointed a gun, and demanded money.

The clerk gave the man all the money from the front register. He was also able to get away with a safe.

The clerk locked herself in a room and called police.
