The film "Killing Winston Jones" is scheduled to be filmed entirely in Savannah.
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
The movie "Killing Winston Jones" doesn't hit theaters until 2013, but filming is under way in Savannah.
Crews began filming late Monday after a bit of a delay due to contract negotiations. The film's director Joel David Moore recently finished shooting "CBGB" in Savannah earlier this year.
"I love the town, I love how everything looks around here. The Historic District is absolutely wonderful, and I said, 'if we're going to be in Georgia, let's go to Savannah'. It's nothing you can find in LA, which is exactly why I like it," he said.
The stars of the movie include Danny Glover, Richard Dreyfuss, Danny Masterson and Jon Hedder. Moore calls the film a dark comedy, with the plot revolving around two physical education teachers trying to get their name on the gym they used to work at. The principal of that school plans to name the gym in memoriam, but neither of the teachers is dead yet.
"Killing Winston Jones" is the first full theatrical feature film for production company Radioactive Giant.
