Dog Left in Hot Car

For the second time in a week, animal control is investigating the case of a dog left inside a hot car. Someone spotted the dog in a car in the Wal-Mart parking lot on Abercorn Street. The windows were up. and with the temperature in the 90s, it was more than 100 degrees inside the car.

Fortunately, the doors were unlocked and officers were able to get the dog out quickly.

"With the condition, with the heat we're having right now, it is a very bad idea to leave your animals in the car for any period of time," said Officer Roundtree with Animal Control. "It would be best to leave them at home."

The case is under investigation.
