Black Friday and Cyber Monday may be over, but there's still plenty of bargains you can take advantage of if you hit the pawn shops.
David Epstein, general manager of Welsh's Pawn Shop in Savannah, says his business has skyrocketed during the holiday season over the past few years. He's glad customers are starting to realize there's more bargains to be found outside of the big name retailers.
If you're looking to buy sterling jewelry, diamond earrings, firearms or even musical instruments, and if you don't mind buying used, a pawn shop may be your best bet. These items usually sell for a fraction of the cost.
If you're concerned about getting ripped off, Epstein says don't worry.
"You can rely on pawn shops because they're not going to put their money in items that have no value, so you can rely that you're going to get a genuine item."
