Transmission line work set for Saturday

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Georgia Power will be replacing overhead wires on Saturday that cross parts of Interstates 16 and 516.

The work is part of the service upgrade for south side Savannah. Drivers can expect temporary delays crossing I-16 just east of I-516; crossing I-16 just north of I-16 and crossing I-516 just went of West Lathrop Avenue.

The DOT will determine when crews will be doing the work. If the work is not finished on Saturday, the work will continue on Sunday and then Dec. 8 and 9, according to Georgia Power.
