Dental records needed to identify body in burning car

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Police are not releasing the identity of the body burned in a car at Kings Ferry because they are waiting for dental records for a positive identification.

Police found a car on fire at along US Highway 17 and the Ogeechee River Wednesday night.

Police say the car was from out of state and there was a body inside. Southside Fire was at the scene investigating and putting the fire out.

Police say an autopsy will be done on the body.
