The city is offering refunds to those who parked in the Liberty Street Garage for Thursday night's Disney on Ice production and were charged a $5.
The city's 3-For-Free Holiday Garage Parking offer allows three hours of free parking in any city parking garage all day Thursday and Friday until the end of December.
On Thursday night the Disney on Ice show, parking garage workers erroneously applied the special event parking rules that were used for Wednesday night's Disney on Ice show, which includes a flat $5 fee for parking in the Civic Center Lot and Liberty Street Garage, according to a city news release.
There were 177 customers who parked in the Liberty Street Garage and paid the $5 fee, when the first three hours should have been free.
"The city apologizes for the error. Garage parkers will not be charged for tonight's performance," according to the city news release.
Those who charged for parking in the garage on Thursday can get a refund by stopping by the Parking Services Office at 100 E. Bryan St. To get the refund, bring a Disney on Ice ticket stub from Thursday or Liberty Street Garage parking receipt. For questions call Parking Services at 912.651.6470.
