Paying tribute to the ones who served our nation during WWII

Mighty 8th Air Force Heritage Museum to host a Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day event Sunday, December 2nd at 2pm.

The day is about paying tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, and honor all those who served during World War II.

The event includes patriotic readings, music and a tribute to Pearl Harbor survivors and WWII veterans.

Special tributes such as a Twenty One Gun salute, a Two Bell Ceremony and a presentation of a Flower Wreath will be honoring the special men and women.

CDR Todd Figanbaum, USN, and Commanding Officer of the USS Alaska SSBN 732 is the principal speaker for this remembrance event. The Alaska is a Trident Class Nuclear Ballistic Submarine based at Kings Bay, Georgia.

Savannah Council of the Navy League of the United States and the Fleet Reserve Association co-sponsored the ceremony.

There is no charge for the event.
