Huge turnout for those seeking energy bill assistance
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Lots of Savannah residents began to line up Sunday night outside the Economic Opportunity Authority building off Anderson St.
The line was already well formed in front of the EOA building on Anderson St. Sunday night by 9 p.m., stretching all the way around the block onto MLK Blvd.
These people are hoping to get some assistance with their electric bills. The Energy Assistance Program helps low-income residents of Savannah-Chatham County every year with a one-time payment to defray the high cost of energy, especially for clients 65 and older.
