Pickup locations have been set up so Comcast subscribers of the Limited Basic Cable plan can get the equipment they need to make the digital transition.
Comcast is switching this week to digital for its Limited Basic plan, according to the city of Savannah.
With the digital changeover, Limited Basic subscribers will need a digital set top box, digital adapter or CableCARD installed. The equipment is free. Those customers who don't have the new equipment could have service interruptions.
Comcast has reached out to all of its customers, according to the city.
The equipment can be picked up at the Savannah Comcast Customer Service Center at 145 Park of Commerce Dr.
Savannah Alderman Tony Thomas also arranged to make the digital converters available at two locations for customers to pickup. The temporary pickup locations are open from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and 3 p.m.-5 p.m. until Dec. 14.
Equipment can be picked up at:
Moses Jackson Community Center 1410 Richards St. Savannah
Crusader Community Center 81 Coffee Bluff Villa Rd. Savannah
Customers can go online to www.comcast.com/digitalnow or call Comcast at 877.634.4434 to have the digital equipment shipped to them for free.
