Family says former neighbor is terrorizing them

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A family living on Gerald Drive says they are living in fear after a former neighbor has continued to vandalize their home.

"This morning I woke up and my tires were shot out. Plus, he has shot paint balls all over our house. We can't take it anymore," Debbie Jennings said.

Jennings has lived in her home for twenty years and says she began feuding with the neighbor across the street when she asked him to stop letting his dogs get out.

"His dogs are dangerous and we have little children. That is when it all began. Then I told the police he was dealing drugs and that upset him too," Jennings said.

Jennings says the neighbor moved out three weeks ago and she hoped the problems would end.

But when she woke up Tuesday morning, her tires were flattened again.

"I called the police but they told me they couldn't do anything because they didn't have proof and they couldn't catch him," Jennings said.

Jennings' daughter said she decided to take matters into her own hands.

"I figured okay I will catch him. So I followed him down Truman Parkway all the way to Waters," Chantel Harris said.

Harris and her mother are hoping the former neighbor will stop for good.

If he comes back, they are hoping police will be nearby to catch him in the act.

Memorial Day weekend is in full effect, which means that law enforcement is out in full force. The Department of Natural Resources is also stressing safety throughout the weekend.  Officers say that they'll be cracking down on the usual charges, such as those not wearing seatbelts, or drinking and driving. But they are also on the hunt for anyone who is distracted while driving.  "Well I checked the jail when I left a few minutes ago and we have openings," s...More >>
