Police seek suspect in Days Inn armed robbery

PORT ROYAL, SC (WTOC) -

Port Royal police are asking for the public's assistance in locating the suspect in an armed robbery that took place around 9:15 p.m. Monday at the Days Inn on Ribaut Rd. in Port Royal.

Police say the man pointed a silver and black semi-automatic pistol at the receptionist. He then took off with the cash drawer and the receptionist's wallet. Police believe he ran towards the Oakhill Terrace area and then got into a getaway car.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, medium to heavy build, wearing a dark colored shirt over his head, a black sweatshirt, black and gray shoes and blues jeans with a light design or fraying on the rear pockets.
