Suspected child molesters hiding out in Newton County woods

CONYERS, GA (CBS46) -

The U.S. Marshals Service is currently searching for two men wanted for molesting a Newton County child, and other charges.

The men identified as Donald Mac Brown, 36, and David Wesley Crawford, 57, are wanted by the Conyers Police Department for sexual exploitation of children. And both men are wanted by the Newton County Sheriff's Office for child molestation and other charges.

Law enforcement said Brown and Crawford are armed with guns and knives and are believed to be hiding out in the wooded areas of Newton County.

"They are frequent outdoor folks. They are familiar with their surroundings in Newton County, which we believe (is where) they still are," James Joyner, the supervisory inspector with the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, said. "They are a threat not only to us, but the general public. If they want to contact us and arrange for their safe surrender, that is an option. We want to do whatever we can to safely put these people behind bars."

The men are believed to be traveling together in a 1999 White Ford F-150 with Georgia tag BZX9023.

If you have any information on their whereabouts call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477.
