On Thursday, Ronald McDonald House hosted their 25th annual Wine and Fries fundraiser. Fast food was paired with a few down home delicacies to make families days a little brighter.
"This event raised not only money, but it raises awareness for our needs. We currently have a 10 bedroom Ronald McDonald House and we could probably use a 20 bedroom Ronald McDonald House. So, while we are so grateful for the last 25 years, we are looking forward to the next 25 years and building a bigger house," said Nikole Layton, executive director, Ronald McDonald House.
For 25 years, the Ronald McDonald House of the Coastal Empire has given families a place to stay while their sick children we're in the hospital in Savannah.
WTOC's Sonny Dixon served as the auctioneer for the fundraiser. The Ronald McDonald House operates solely on donations. To donate or volunteer, visit http://www.rmhccoastalempire.org/.
