The Disabled Army Veterans Chapter 46 held a Pearl Harbor remembrance ceremony at the American Legion Post 168 on Highway 84.
HINESVILLE, GA (WTOC) -
Friday is the 71st anniversary for the attack on Pearl Harbor. To pay tribute, members of the Disabled Army Veterans Chapter 46 in Hinesville held a special ceremony at the American Legion Post 168 on Highway 84.
Lt. Col. John Allen was the guest speaker. He said it's important to celebrate the heroic acts and facts of that Day of Infamy that showed the patriotism of the nation.
"There are so many WWII Veterans that are dying each day, that in fact, there are almost zero survivors today. So I think it is important to keep reminding people of all of the sacrifices and heroic actions that took place that day," Allen said.
The Bradwell Institute JROTC participated in this year's event.
