The Tennessee Volunteers finally found a coach, Butch Jones from Cincinnati. Jones replaces Derek Dooley who spent 2 losing seasons in Knoxville. Jones will be trying to bring the Vols out of three straight losing seasons for the first time in 100 years.
The Vols were turned down by at least 4 candidates, including Charlie Strong from Louisville before zeroing in on Jones who is looking forward to getting started in Knoxville. "I know we live in an instant gratification society and everybody wants everything at once but I will tell you this, you are going to be proud of this football team and you're going to be proud of this football program."
Jones first game with the Vols will be August 31st when Austin Peay visits Neyland Stadium.
