Chatham Co. Commission to vote on pay raises

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Chatham County commissioners are looking to give themselves a pay raise in the new year. It would be the first raise since 2001.

Right now, county commissioners make just over $17,000 base salary. The proposed increase would bring it up to $25,000.

The Chatham County Commission Chairman of the Board is paid $50,000 right now. The pay raise would boost their salary up to $57,000.

The commissioners will vote on this issue at a Dec. 21 meeting.
