Three thousand Chatham County voters need to take a second look at their voting precinct cards because of a mistake that was made when some of the cards were printed.
If you vote at the Islands Community Center or Islands Elementary School, your voting cards have the wrong district on them. If your card says District 4, it should read District 1 and vice versa. Voter registration says with all the redistricting and new lines, they just made a mistake.
"It was a major undertaking with more than 100,000 registered voters, and we again apologize to all the people at Islands Community Center and Islands Elementary," said Sandra Williams, director of voter registration.
New precinct cards are being printed. Election officials are hoping they get to the voters before next Tuesday.
