Meeting again to stop gang violence

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Community members are trying to bring a stop to the violence.

They met Monday evening at First African Baptist Church in Savannah.

They say they are coming up with a plan of action and they say after their last meeting, more of the fair shooting suspects turned themselves in.

Now, they are hoping more people will start speaking out.

"This snitching issue has to stop. That word has crippled our youth. They know what is happening and they don't want to say anything to anyone," Marquis Mason said.

Mason was one of the victims from the fair shooting.

"There are some things happening now where people are being shot on a weekly basis and we need the community to do more talking," Pastor Eric Mason said.

Nearly a dozen people attended the meeting.
