Temporary lane closures installed for I-516 guardrail repairs

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Georgia DOT workers will be installing a temporary single lane closures for repairing the guardrail on I-516 including ramps onto Veterans Parkway and I-16 westbound at Mile Post 166. 

Motorists should expect intermittent lane and/or shoulder closures with traffic shift on various ramps on Veterans Parkway at I-516. Work will proceed Dec. 11-14 daily between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. These closures are subject to change. 

Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through these work zones. Message signs, barrels and cones will be utilized to alert the drivers of the upcoming changes.

The temporary single lane closures are expected in the following areas:

  • I-516 near Veterans Parkway and S.R. 204/Abercorn Ext. near U.S.17/S.R. 25/Ogeechee Road 
  • I-516 near exit # 7
  • I-16 Eastbound at mile post 166
  • 37th Street Connector
