A Maryland man is seriously injured when his scooter collides with an SUV at Henry and Bull streets.
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
A 19-year-old Maryland man was injured Wednesday night when the scooter he was riding collided with an SUV at Henry and Bull streets.
At about 5:24 p.m. Wednesday, Tyler Douglas Brewer, of Phoenix, Md., was riding a Vespa scooter south on Bull Street when a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Craig Lanard Smith, 38, of Savannah, turned left onto Henry Street in front of him, according to Savannah-Chatham Metro Police.
Brewer skidded sideways while trying to stop. Police said he hit the SUV and sliding underneath it.
Brewer was taken to Memorial University Medical Center with serious injuries where he is in stable condition.
SCMPD's Major Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate the collision.
