PETA Award goes to Lady's Island Fire District

BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) -

PETA's Compassionate Action Award is going to the Lady's Island St. Helena Fire District and Beaufort County Emergency Medical Services after they rescued a dog that was stuck underneath a dock.

The firefighters and an EMT from Beaufort Co. EMS rescued the dog by dismantling the dock boards.

The Lady's Island St. Helena Fire District and the Beaufort County EMS crews will receive a framed certificate, a letter of appreciation, and a box of vegan chocolates from PETA.
