Ga. Hwy 21 NB lanes reopen after crash

EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

A northbound lane of Ga. Highway 21 northbound at Wallace Road in Effingham County has reopened after a crash with injuries involving a school bus. 

A car and school bus collided Friday morning. ECSO deputies, Springfield police and Georgia State Patrol responded to the crash, according to the Effingham County Sheriff's Office.

The car tried to cross four lanes of Hwy 21, according to the ECSO when it collided with the school bus heading northbound on Hwy 21.

No students were on the bus at the time of the wreck. The bus driver was not injured. The driver and a passenger were in the car. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area if possible.
