SPRINGFIELD, GA (WTOC) -

Two people are injured Friday morning in a wreck in Springfield involving a school bus.

It happened on Georgia Highway 21 at Wallace Road. A school bus ended up in a ditch.

Georgia State Patrol troopers said the driver of a car was trying to cross the four lanes on Ga. Hwy 21 and pulled out in front of a bus. The bus went flying into the ditch and the car blocked both northbound lanes.

There were no children on the bus and the driver of the bus was fine. There have been a lot of wrecks this week and gave a friendly reminder to drivers, according to the GSP.

"Well, this time of year everybody is in a hurry. Everyone needs to get somewhere. My advice to everyone is just slow down, don't drink, and if you do you better make sure you have a driver. Just slow down those are the things to avoid serious injuries in a crash," said Georgia State Patrol Sfc. Ben Forehand.

The driver of the car and her passenger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Georgia Hwy. 21 was closed for just over an hour so crews could get the bus out of the ditch.
