Students at Mossy Oaks Elementary are learning all about different holiday traditions around the world including Hanukkah. Michele Lipsitz, the school's media assistant, has been teaching students about the Jewish holiday for years. This week, they learned all about the Menorah and even got a taste of Latkes.
"It's fried in oil," said Lipsitz. "The oil is taking us back over 2,000 years ago to when they discovered a little bit of oil that ended up lasting for 8 days. So it's the miracle of the oil. Hanukkah is called the festive of lights."
During the lesson, students also got the opportunity to spin the dradle.
