SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Do you still
have gifts to buy for the holidays? There's only a few days left before Christmas.
We headed
down to Broughton Street to see how the season is going for shops downtown and
how some of the new stores are doing. While Levy Jewelers isn't new to the
area, they have moved a block and say businesses has really picked up.
"We support
the community, and the community supports us," said Lowell Kronowitz, President
of Levy Jewelers.
"My
expectation is to be here for another 75 years we've put our name in the terrazzo
like the tradition on Broughton Street is, we are going to be here for a long
time."
"Yeah it's picking up," said John Croley of
Planet Fun. "There's always a lot of gag gifts- stocking stuffers and things
like that. That seems to be when we really pick up - towards the end when
people began to panic and get more stuff for Christmas.
For the most part - retailers
say they are happy with this year's holiday shopping turnout.
