Owner of Bernie's River Street settles with hit and run victim's family

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A family has settled with the owner of Bernie's River Street over a hit and run case.

Craig Loxton, 18, was fatally hit by a car being driven by Jonathon Brett McKie, 38, back in 2010.

Police say McKie was under the influence of alcohol when he hit and killed Loxton, who was driving a motor scooter on the Island Expressway overpass.

McKie is serving a 16 year sentence, with 7 to serve.  

There is no word on the details of the settlement.
