A group that helps young people all the time got some help from the public at an annual event. The Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club held its annual steak and burger dinner last night. More than 200 people joined the celebration to support the organization.
Their donations will go a long way toward helping the club provide after-school programs for children. The Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club has been in the business of helping children for the past 88 years.
"It's a good way to get the community to really have a close touch with the kids," said the club's Vincent J. Del Monte. "Everybody is busy and of course they think about us all of the time, but just to be actually there and interact with the kids, it's a wonderful thing."
The steak and burger dinner is one of the major fundraisers for the club.
