SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Police are asking for the public's help finding a gunman who robbed the First Chatham Bank on Hodgson Memorial Drive Tuesday afternoon.

It happened at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday. The FBI is investigating.

A Savannah-Chatham Metro canine and his handler tracked the robber to a parking lot on Montgomery Cross Road where the suspect got in to a vehicle.

Police said the suspect is described as a slender black male with a light or medium complexion. He is in his early 30s and about 5'5" or 5'6". During the robbery, he was wearing a baggy grey hoodie, white garden gloves, a blue bandana across his face, dark sunglasses and a red or auburn-colored wig.

According to police, the suspect walked up to the teller, took out a handgun and ordered that money be placed in a navy blue canvas bag before leaving the bank.
