Fair shooting suspect arrested

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police have arrested the last suspect in connection with a shooting Nov. 3 at the Coastal Empire Fair.

Southside Precinct officers arrested Lajuan Jerome Sloman, 22, just after 12 p.m. Wednesday without incident at a house in the south side.

He is charged with eight counts of aggravated assault and one of making false statements to police to impede the investigation.

"The public has been very helpful through this entire operation. The public took ownership of this. They provided so much information that helped us," said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department.

Five other men have been arrested. One is charged with aggravated assault and four others are charged with providing false information.
