CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -
A ceremony will
be held Friday to dedicate the new Pete Liakakis Government Building.
The
dedication takes place at 3 p.m. and the building is located at 222 West
Oglethorpe Ave.
The building
will be occupied by more than 200 staff members in five different departments, which
include the Tax Commissioner's Office, Assessor's Office, Public Defender's
Office, Child Support Recovery and the Data Center.
The ceremony
also marks the completion of construction of the renovation of 222 West
Oglethorpe Ave. The $6.8 million in construction provides Chatham County's
second largest office building, according to the county.
The building
features solar hot water heating, split mechanical systems for efficiency, Energy-Star rated appliances and natural lighting.
