Driver dies after Effingham County wreck

EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

A Guyton man has succumbed to his injuries nearly one month after being involved in a wreck in Effingham County.

Eddie Johnson, 45, who was involved in a crash on Nov. 27 and has remained at Memorial University Medical Center since it happened, died over the weekend, according to the Effingham County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said Johnson was driving a pickup truck northbound on McCall Road when he lost control and it rolled over several times near Ralph Rahn Road. He was ejected about 50 to 75 yards into a field from the truck.

Deputies said Johnson was not wearing a seat belt.
