A family of seven who are house-sitting while the homeowners are out of town woke up early Christmas morning to a car crashing through the living room.
The American Red Cross's Disaster Action Team responded early Tuesday morning around 1 a.m. to help the family at a home on Lakeview Drive in Hinesville. Two cars were racing, according to the Red Cross.
The house is on the inside of a turn and one of the cars, a 2006 Dodge Charger, missed the turn by the front porch and went into the living room, according to the Red Cross. No one was injured.
The car missed some of the family members in the living room by about six feet, and nobody in the home was hurt.
Red Cross volunteers provided funds, temporary shelter and food to the family who's watching the house. The homeowners on their way back from Atlanta.
